PHYSALIS
- Physalis peruviana
The Physalis
belong to the Solanaceas family. This is a round fruit
weighing 5 to 7grms and its diameter is approximately
2cm. The berry is loosely enclosed in a natural, papery,
yellowish husk that must be open to consume the fruit.
The phsyalis has a smooth, waxy, glossy and orange-yellow
skin; the pulp is juicy and contains numerous, very small,
light - yellow seeds. When ripe, it tastes sweet with
a fine and delicate sour touch. |
